SOUTH SIDE BICYCLE TOUR A scenic 4 and a half hour bicycle tour of secluded areas of Kauai's beautiful south side. Your journey begins on an old cane road running
through the legendary estate of Grove Farm Plantation, a former 22,000
acre sugar plantation. The bike tour will take you through grazing lands,
fields of coffee and papaya, as well as tropical forests and spectacular
vistas. Ride through Kauai’s only sugar cane tunnel which separates our
eastside from our south shore. Continue on until you reach the first sugar
mill built in Hawaii. A short tour of the mill gives you a feeling of the
era when sugar was king. Leaving the sugar mill, your ride will take you to
the beautiful beaches of Mahaulepu. A short hike takes you to a secluded
beach for a picnic lunch and a rest stop. You then continue on with
a 20 minute hike, leading to a secret beach. From the beach, the trail
skirts back along a pristine shoreline. Keep an eye out for turtles,
porpoises and whales (dependent upon time of year). Make sure to bring a
camera. From the trailhead, you will be greeted and driven back to
where you met to begin the hike, or, if it’s a private tour, returned to
your hotel.
